The 2019 Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup features the 959 Panigale in this Ducati one-make series. The 959 is the latest generation of Ducati ‘middleweight’ or super-mid as they are known which have featured in this championship over the last ten years.
The twin cylinder 959 Panigale incorporates a 157hp, 955cc Superquadro and benefits from Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Riding Mode technology including Ride-by-Wire, triple-stage Bosch ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC). It is a bike that is often favoured as a superbike for the road due its lower capacity compared to the more extreme power of the Panigale V4. This useable power combined with sublime handling and limited changes to the standard motorcycle has encouraged close racing, relative affordability and enduring popularity amongst both riders and spectators over the last ten years. The high quality and competitiveness of the field has led to riders stepping successfully up to other classes. 2017 Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup champion, Joe Collier successfully competed in this year’s 2018 Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship, finishing a creditable third.
The Ducati Cup will again be sponsored by Ducati TriOptions, the brand name for Ducati Personal Contract Purchase.
Ducati Performance is the brand name for promoting official Ducati accessories many of which will be seen on the bikes racing on track and are also available to purchase through the Ducati dealer network.
